About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to lead and influence technology delivery practices for our squad and beyond. You will interact with our business partners and other key stakeholders to gain a clear understanding of priorities and ensure activities are aligned and executed to achieve strategic objectives. 

You will be accountable for the execution of key technology initiatives for our Benchmarq® product platform, partnering with key stakeholders to deliver a portfolio of solutions and capabilities with responsiveness/speed to market, efficiency, predictability and exceptional quality. You will optimize the flow of work and help creatively solve problems by integrating visibility (e.g., KPIs, Metrics, Dashboards) and championing continuous improvement.

  • Be a technical leader that sits comfortably in both technology and business teams. Define and solve problems with software engineers as well as lay out and scope work products with business stakeholders
  • Define, prioritize, and ensure a ready backlog of work for a cross-functional and matrixed technology team of teams, accept final product output, focusing on achievement of defined outcomes versus defining how the work is completed
  • Act as voice of the end user; have a deep understanding of,  anticipate and proactively seek customer feedback ensuring the needs and requirements are clearly defined; ensure team’s work product meets defined acceptance criteria
  • Provide feedback on work-in-progress, clarify requirements and contribute to removing roadblocks or impediments; seek opportunities for continuous team and process improvement
  • Partner with key leaders and peers across departments to define resource requirements to achieve defined business outcomes
  • Manage cross-team and department dependencies to support delivery of technical solutions
  • Escalate and track risks and impediments to eliminate systemic waste and improve value
  • Create transparency into team progress through visible boards, operational metrics, forums, dashboards, etc.
  • Foster an innovative, inclusive and diverse team environment promoting positive team culture, encouraging collaboration and self-organization
  • BS/MS degree in computer science, software development, business OR related discipline; experience in business, technology, product development and management may suffice for education
  • 5 years of experience in a Portfolio Management, Program Management, Project Management, Execution focused role delivering technology solutions on a demanding schedule including delivery of several epics, releases and versions and application of a wide variety of patterns and techniques (i.e., multi-team planning techniques, facilitating retrospectives, dependency management, etc.)
  • 5 years of work experience within the discipline being supported (e.g.: Insurance technology, insurance policy administration)
  • Proven analytical skills and experience making decisions based on hard and soft data preferred
  • End-to-end digital product management lifecycle experience including budgeting and forecasting; preferably in insurance
  • Strong knowledge of portfolio management tools including Jira and Clarity
  • Portfolio, Program and / or Project management certifications (PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, PgMP, PfMP) preferred
  • Agile certifications (CSM, SAFe) preferred

 

In Jersey City, NJ the pay range for the role is $101,000 to $172,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
