Job Summary:

As a key member of the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics’ Executive Leadership Team, the Senior Associate AD or Associate AD for External Affairs will assist the department in providing strong vision, leadership, management, coordination and oversight of athletics external operations.

This position holds the crucial role of providing strategic leadership to key areas that drive revenue for Furman Athletics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to oversight of athletics revenue generation, marketing, communications, promotions, game day experience, athletics ticket sales, corporate partnerships, licensing and branding with a focus on Greenville and Upstate South Carolina. Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Chief Revenue Officer for Furman Athletics

  • Supervises the following:

    • Athletics Marketing and Promotions; Game Day Experience

    • Athletics Communications

    • Athletic Ticket Office

    • Branding/Licensing

    • Relationship with Athletics multimedia rights holder

    • Designated Head Coaches

  • Coordinates the vision and strategic planning for all external initiatives

  • Responsible for coordinating Timmons Arena renovation revenue generation plan and oversight of strategic partners such as Taymar and Legends

  • Drives strategy to increase attendance to home athletics contests with emphasis on revenue sports

  • Serves as the primary liaison between Furman Athletics’ multimedia rights holder, guiding partnership strategy and maximizing revenue opportunities for the institution

  • Ensures communication between all external units conducting meetings to ensure seamless coordination across all areas

  • In partnership with the Associate AD – Director of Athletics Development and Alumni Relations, develops and executes the fundraising strategy for annual gifts

  • Collaborate with University Advancement staff to further university-wide fundraising goals and effectively promote engagement and philanthropy and broad-based donor communications.

  • Works with University Communications and University Advancement in an effort to grow community relations and engage with Greenville, Upstate South Carolina and a national audience.

  • Designs and implements a strategy to strengthen and grow Furman Athletics’ brand in the community, region, and nationwide

  • Implements creative and innovative approach to revenue generation in coordination with other areas and key stakeholders on campus

  • Works collaboratively with the Senior Associate AD – Internal Operations and the Associate AD/ Director of Athletics Development and Alumni Relations to develop and fund capital projects and expand game day experience for donors

  • Works collaboratively with the Athletics Business Office on contractual agreements regarding television, radio and multi-media rights and other external agreements
