Description
SUMMARY
The Internship Program at Warm Beach Camp is a 12-month long program geared toward young adults for the benefit of gaining work experience, conjointly developing personal and spiritual maturity. As an Intern, you will not only work up-front with guests and behind the scenes at camp, but you will also encounter a wide variety of departmental experiences and responsibilities with the goal of identifying and developing personal and leadership skills and opportunities within the camp ministry. When not working, each Intern will have the opportunity to shadow the various departments of our camp ministry and participate in experiences led by our full-time staff. The person in this position shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior towards colleagues, guests and supervisors. Regular attendance is essential for this position. Adherence to a published schedule is expected and required.
1st Term:
The first term will be learning what it looks like to work behind the scenes of The Lights of Christmas ministry in support roles and then serving our guests during the event. Interns will have an opportunity to work alongside our Hospitality, Guest Services, Outdoor Education, Recreation, Food Services and Accommodations departments as we work to serve our guests, all while keeping the path clear to the cross.
2nd Term:
The second term will allow interns to take their skills that they have learned and apply them by working alongside department managers, hosting retreat groups during meals, working alongside both the Accommodations team and helping assist in Food Services. Interns will also help run Outdoor Education and team Building classes as well as serving in multiple roles with the Recreation Department. Training will be provided. Interns may have opportunities to help with summer staff recruiting as well.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Building relationships with and getting to know our guests, working The Lights of Christmas, leading outdoor education sessions, leading recreation activities, prepping for new groups, running retail, cooking, and cleaning camp after groups, helping Food Services prepare, serve and clean up for meals.
OTHER AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Linen upkeep, special projects installation and removal, challenge course upkeep, event planning, trail maintenance, and other jobs based on interns set of skills or passions.

At Warm Beach Camp and Conference Center, we exist to provide Christ-centered environments, experiences, and resources that draw people to God through camping ministries, conferences and events.
POSITION CLASSIFICATION
This is a part-time, hourly position. Hours expected to be 20-40 a week. During our winter season hours may vary slightly. Must be flexible to work weekends at times to best serve guest needs.
Requirements
WORK CONTEXT:
This job will be performed primarily on location at Warm Beach Camp in Stanwood, WA. There may be opportunities to work off-site at our sister camp Black Diamond Camp.
TRAVEL:
Working offsite will happen infrequently during recruiting or training trips.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or greater.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to correspond through email. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
