RP Professional Services is seeking an entry-level Junior Grants Specialist to join and support USAID's Local, Faith, and Transformative Partnerships Hub with the American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) team. In this role, you will be playing a key role in the issuance and management of USAID-issued grants, including pre-award grant package development and post-award documentation controls. The ideal candidate for this role will be passionate about advancing USAID’s overseas mission and will possess the following skills: critical thinking, attention to detail, teamwork, experience using spreadsheet tools and data manipulation, writing and editing, a willingness to learn, and excellent communications skills. We firmly believe in promoting from within and elevating our staff to be successful.

This position is fully remote and requires the ability to obtain a secret security clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Uses the client's assistance planning and financial systems to enter, maintain and reconcile documentation into a database that contains award information, status updates, and ownership information
  • Prepares grant award packages for the approval of the client's Agreement Officer
  • Serves as a point of contact for grant-related inquiries and the dissemination of grant-related documentation and guidance to grantees, overseas missions, and other grant stakeholders
  • Ensures a high level of quality control and serves as a central information clearinghouse for all grant actions and correspondence, including the preparation and organization of finalized grant packages for year-end audits
  • Uses and ensures compliance with the client's Program Planning, Tracking & Monitoring System and uses this as a tool to share grant information with its client
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • One year of professional experience (internships, volunteer positions, and consultancies may be counted towards this requirement)
  • Familiarity with MS Office and/or Google Suite
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • The ability to work for any US employer without requiring sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or familiarity with the award management process for U.S. government-issued grants, cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements
  • Possesses a basic understanding of the applicable federal acquisition regulations (2 CFR 200) and USAID policies and procedures (AIDARs) related to award management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to Agreement Officers, Contracts Officers, and Activity Managers
