**This is an on-site position that requires regular weekly travel to each of DMA's facilities. Remote work is not available for this role.**
Position Overview:
DMA Industries, LLC is seeking a skilled HSE Coordinator to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs across all Distribution Centers (DCs). This role will ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations while promoting a safety-first culture. The HSE Coordinator will regularly travel to various DCs to conduct audits, training, and inspections, providing on-site guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health & Safety Program Oversight: Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations. Conduct regular audits and facility inspections to identify risks, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Training & Safety Culture Development: Coordinate and conduct safety training for all employees, including topics on personal protective equipment (PPE), power equipment safety (forklifts, order pickers, etc.), emergency procedures, and hazard communication. Promote a culture of safety and establish local safety champions at each DC.
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, hazardous materials handling, and air/water quality standards. Support sustainability initiatives and manage environmental permits across all DCs.
- Incident Response & Risk Management: Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Analyze safety data across DCs to identify trends and develop targeted improvement strategies.
- Emergency Preparedness & Support: Evaluate and enhance emergency response plans, ensuring all DCs are equipped and trained for various emergency scenarios. Coordinate drills and inspections for emergency equipment.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate safety records, dashboards, and KPIs. Regularly report HSE performance, risks, and compliance status to senior leadership.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform all other duties as assigned.
Please note: This position does not include relocation assistance. The role may be based at one of the following locations: Marion, SC; Mullins, SC; Nichols, SC; Loris, SC; or Tabor City, NC.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in health, safety, and/or environmental compliance, preferably in a multi-site or distribution/logistics environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred. Relevant work experience (5+ years in a dedicated HSE role) may be considered in lieu of a degree. OSHA 30-Hour, HAZWOPER, or similar certifications are a plus.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and training skills. Ability to influence others and lead safety initiatives across multiple locations.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of OSHA, EPA, and relevant environmental regulations. Experience with safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance reporting. Familiarity with power equipment safety (forklifts, order pickers).
- Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with safety tracking systems and digital auditing tools is a plus.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.
- Works closely with DC management, maintenance, and HR Generalists (HRGs) to implement and sustain HSE initiatives.
