In this Quality Engineering role you have the opportunity to gain experience working with customers across multiple disciplines with Collins Aerospace. You will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction metrics.
You will develop strong customer relationships and manage the customer satisfaction metrics for the assigned customers. You will utilize a network of operations, manufacturing, supply chain and engineering resources to evaluate Mission Systems products and processes, analyze root causes of deficiencies and ensures proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner. As a Quality Engineer on our team you will participate in cross-functional team efforts to make improvements to the products and processes ensuring the highest quality products are delivered to the customer.
To be successful in this role it will require the ability to develop relationships with customers, program/contract management and various support groups to ensure timely responses to issues requiring corrective action or impacting customer satisfaction. And an ability to interpret customer requirements and assess Collins Aerospace abilities to satisfy them with our current Quality Management System (QMS).
This is an ONSITE position in our Coralville, IA location. This role may be eligible for relocation for the right candidate.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the quality of Mission Systems (MiS) products and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continuously improving.
- Develops and implements program quality plans.
- Responsible for the coordination of product recall recommendations and actions by identifying the impacts of the problem
- Analyze new field event data, design changes and Quality notices to determine the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
- Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required.
- Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Analyze and report metrics monthly
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders and team members effectively and clearly.
- Methodical with a working knowledge of Quality System, AS9100
- Has a solid understanding of the fundamentals and tools of the discipline and role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong problem solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong presentation skills and planning
