About the role

Description

 As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at our Ambulatory Surgery Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical ophthalmic and cosmetic procedures. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to evaluate patients' medical history, anesthesia requirements, and potential risks. 
  • Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs, and other healthcare team members to develop individualized anesthesia care plans. 
  • Administer local anesthesia with monitored sedation in accordance with established protocols. 
  • Monitor and adjust anesthesia levels to ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the surgical procedure. 
  • Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to closely observe patient’s vital signs, respiratory status, and overall physiological responses during surgery. 
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and take appropriate corrective actions. 
  • Expertly manage patients’ airway, ensuring proper ventilation and oxygenation during anesthesia induction, maintenance and emergence. 
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing information and reassurance regarding anesthesia procedures. 
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses and other health professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care. 
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic medical records and paper records, documenting all aspects of the anesthesia care provided. 
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and documentation requirements. 


Requirements

  

Qualifications: 

  • Current certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) 
  • State licensure as a CRNA 
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications 
  • Advanced practice nursing degree from an accredited program. 
  • Experience in proving anesthesia services in an ambulatory surgery setting preferred 
  • Must possess the physical, mental, and cognitive skills needed to complete essential tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for comprehension, problem-solving, and timely decision-making.?

  •  Sitting, Standing, Bending, Reaching, Stooping, Walking and Lifting? 
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks? 
  • Driving independently to other facilities? 

Working Conditions:??? 

  •  Travel to other locations may be necessary.? 
  • Work may involve a high level of stress.? 
  • Occupational Exposure - Category Ill exposure to blood-borne pathogens and may encounter chemical hazards.?
