Why Consider This Job Opportunity

The PMIC Design Engineer is a senior member of the PMIC design team with focused expertise in magnetic and/or capacitive DCDC converters. This position is responsible for aspects of architecture, implementation, and final performance of one major power management block in the team IC designs. The PMIC Design Engineer works to create, document, and file new IP. The successful candidate will have a strong track record for on-time tape-out of power management ICs and enjoy working in a dynamic team environment.

What To Expect (Essential Job Responsibilities)

• Ownership of top-level power management blocks (e.g. magnetic and capacitive DCDC converters).
• Design and implement production analog and power management IC sub-blocks.
• Mentor and review other designers’ work.
• Interact closely with PMIC systems, design, applications, and layout engineers.
• Create innovative circuit, topology, and solution IP in collaboration with the team.
• Key contributor for new IP creation documented by patent applications.

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Master’s in Electrical Engineering with 10 years’ experience or PhD with 5 years in power electronics.
• Successful record with magnetic and capacitive power management converter IC designs. 
• Ability to analyze problems where established procedures do not exist and draw conclusions where considerable variation in interpretation is possible. 
• Position will most often perform as a final reviewer.
