Requirements

As the Software Design Director at Sidetrade, you will hold a pivotal role in driving the design and development process of our software projects. Your leadership will be instrumental in overseeing a multidisciplinary team of UX/UI designers, researchers, and Tech Writers, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions that exceed client expectations.

The right candidate will be able to grow the studio design function to extend services outside of product/R&D and into core business areas through the set up and creation of an internal digital asset's agency. In this role, you will hire the right team members and set up appropriate structures and governance to offer services such as webpage design, event stand and booth graphics, presentation, and business document template designs and much more. Through this, your flare for all things creative whilst having a key eye for detail and experience in brand promotion will help drive this new function.

This role is particularly exciting as it provides the unique opportunity to define both the UX/UI vision for our leading SaaS application aligned with the company strategy, plus set forth and implement global design standards that are incorporated into all digital marketing & sales assets company wide as leader of the internal design studio for asset creation projects to ensure consistency throughout the brand and product.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead the design and development process of software projects, from conception to delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, inspiring your team to push the boundaries of creativity and user experience.
• Expand the studio's capabilities beyond product/R&D, establishing an internal digital assets agency to provide services such as webpage design, event graphics, presentations, and business document templates.
• Recruit and develop a high-performing team, setting up structures and governance to support the studio's growth and expansion into new business areas.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and align design solutions with business objectives.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, continually seeking opportunities to enhance our design processes and deliverables.

What you’ll need to be successful:
