WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK:
Hybrid: This role will be a mix of in-office work at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA and remote work. This position is expected to be in office two -three days per week but may vary depending on business demands.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
This position combines hands-on technical leadership in software testing with people management skills to deliver high-quality software testing solutions. Key responsibilities include establishing testing standards, tracking metrics, ensuring alignment with company goals, collaborating with senior management, and maintaining clear communication across teams to deliver high-quality software testing solutions.
The Supervisor of Software Test Engineering at Tandem are also responsible for:
- Designs, develops, modifies, supports, and tests automated test software and software tools.
- Identifies and incorporates appropriate framework and tools to automate software testing.
- Identifies opportunities in software process, discusses with peers, and implements proposals to address gaps.
- Responsible for automated test software design specifications, interface descriptions, and other software documentations; may act as documentation owner for projects.
- Provides estimates of effort and timelines to management.
- Performs manager duties when manager is absent or out of office.
- Conducts yearly performance appraisals for team members.
- Responsible for the training, mentoring and development of junior team members.
- Manages source code effectively using Source Code Management (SCM) tools (e.g. SVN, git, Source Tree), processes and procedures.
- Independently diagnoses, replicates and addresses build and deployment issues.
- Confirms completion of required training plan before assuming job responsibilities.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences or related field or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in leadership or equivalent role. Preferably, leading and coordinating activities between testers and developers.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in the field of automated test software or in a related area.
- A minimum of 1 year in software/quality assurance testing, minimum or equivalent experience.
- Ability to effectively mentor/coach others to review and critique requirements for testability.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple priorities and complete assignments on time and with minimal errors.
- Proficient with formal software test methodologies.
- Proficient knowledge of at least one embedded or cloud-based programming language, preferably javascript, C or C#.
- Familiar with common test frameworks and automation tools, preferably selenium web driver, jasmine, mocha, Appium.
- Able to work independently and deliver high quality work product without close supervision.
- Able to articulate work assignments and direct the work of more junior team members.
- Adept at seeing change as an opportunity to improve business performance and campaigning for it when necessary.
- Able to effectively convey information related to work product and lead group discussions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead work teams.
- Able to assert own ideas and persuade others through effectively consolidating, evaluating, and presenting relevant information.
- Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
