Job Description
Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is hiring a motivated Senior DevOps Software Engineer to support the Minotaur Mission Processor, a critical Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) system deployed across various military and federal platforms.
Minotaur is a cutting-edge software suite that processes critical data from diverse sensors, empowering operators of manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft to identify and track targets.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for applying DevOps principles across the entire software engineering lifecycle, ensuring rapid, reliable and secure deployment of mission-critical capabilities.
The position will be onsite at the NAVWAR HQs in San Diego, CA.
An active US level Secret Clearance is required for consideration.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Automating system integration, testing, and deployment of new improved capabilities for an operationally fielded system, including advanced object tracking and multi-sensor correlation initiatives.
- Developing infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions to manage and provision development, testing, and operational environments.
- Collaborating directly with development and operations teams to improve system monitoring, alerting, and log management to ensure system stability and performance in the field.
- Integrating and testing software interfaces for critical ISR sensors like RADAR, SIGINT, and EO/IR systems within the automated pipeline.
- Providing expert mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Directly collaborating with customers to shape the product backlog for your Scrum team, focusing on operational needs and maintainability.
- Supporting system integration events on various aircraft during ground and flight tests, which my include potentially flying on aircraft to validate system deployment and train operators.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development involving programming languages such as C++ and/or Java.
- Experience working in a Linux environment.
- Must possess an active US level Secret Clearance
Preferred Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with software development, specifically focusing on CI/CD automation, computer networking, and system interfaces in a cutting-edge environment.
- Prior experience with the Minotaur Mission Processor, and/or experience working with Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security.
