Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works to all mechanical within the site.</p><p>Posses the ability to demonstrate relevant knowledge of, AHU’s, pumps and motors which will include the ability to fault find with the help of the BMS and the utilization of current alarm data.</p><p><br/><b>Responsibilities </b></p><ul><li>Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.</li><li>Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. Provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works and send out site communications where necessary.</li><li>Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment, include the wearing of relevant PPE.</li><li>Ensure that all plant rooms under your responsibility are always locked and are kept in a clean and tidy condition.</li><li>Supervise and monitor of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.</li><li>Arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible with working patterns where necessary.</li><li>Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.</li><li>Ensure tasks as directed are completed with the appropriate H&amp;S awareness and implementation.</li><li>Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with BD, Health &amp; Safety procedures.</li><li>Flexible with your working times towards the end of the day in the event of an emergency or if a critical alarm appears on the BMS.</li><li>Proficient on computers to enable you to communicate via email and quote / order parts.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Requirements: </b></p><ul><li>Completed an apprenticeship and hold a Level 3 technical and vocational qualification or Level 3 Diploma in a relevant subject.</li><li>Knowledge of Mechanical systems, BMS Systems, HVAC, Boilers, Boiler Control Systems and emergency lighting systems.</li><li>Fundamental understanding of mechanical, electrical and other utility systems.</li><li>Up to 2 years Mechanical facilities experience, with high levels of flexibility and innovation.</li><li>Experience in Facility Equipment fault finding and maintenance activities.</li><li>Experience in building services (Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Systems, Building Fabric, etc)</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivated.</li><li>Excellent report writing and PC literate.</li><li>Ability to assess urgency and impact (e.g., safety-critical vs. routine maintenance).</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Salary range for the role: </b>£36.000 to £39.000 + call-out duties benefits</p><p>Click on apply if this sounds like you! </p><p></p><p>BD is proud to be certified as a Top Employer 2026 in <b>United Kingdom </b>and in<b> Europe</b>, reflecting our commitment to creating an exceptional working environment</p><p>At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
