Overview of the role
Servers will be responsible for the dining experience to include greeting the guests, serving the guest in a gracious and professional manner that represents the highest of standards to ensure exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Autograph Collection standards under the franchise of Mainsail.
What you have
High school diploma, equivalent, or higher
Previous experience in hospitality, preferably as a server
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to use technology, e.g., tablets, iPads, computers, and POS system
Beverage knowledge, including wine and liquor
Ability to work on a team with members of the Front of House staff
Proven experience in describing dishes and beverages to guests
Ability to handle station, and work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner
A sense of ownership in everything that you do
What you’ll do
Serve guest in an efficient and courteous manner following the proper steps of service
Set up tables with items needed for service (i.e. flatware, drinkware, condiments, linens, etc.
Maintain knowledge of current menu items, including ingredients, preparation, accompaniments, and sauces
Bus tables quickly and quietly, ensuring table is thoroughly cleaned
Upsell menu items to guests, as well as pairing wine with the meal
Ensure guest tables are properly set up during meal period, making sure appropriate flatware and drinkware is placed
Participate in daily cleaning of dining room and service stations
Attend monthly department meetings and daily standups
Follow cash handling procedures, and be able to explain shortages and overages
Other necessary duties as reasonably assigned
