Check out the details below!</strong></p> <p>WHO ARE YOU?</p> <ul><li><strong>Experienced:</strong> You bring <strong>8+ years of backend development</strong> experience, ideally in <strong>data-intensive, distributed systems</strong>.</li><li><strong>Skilled in data:</strong> You’re an expert in <strong>PostgreSQL</strong>, <strong>NoSQL</strong>, and <strong>streaming technologies</strong> like <strong>Kafka</strong> or RabbitMQ.</li><li><strong>Architect-minded:</strong> You design scalable <strong>data architectures and pipelines</strong> that handle both real-time and batch processing.</li><li><strong>Builder:</strong> You’re fluent in <strong>JVM languages (Java/Kotlin)</strong>, familiar with <strong>containerization</strong> (Docker, Kubernetes), and skilled with <strong>CI/CD</strong> workflows.</li><li><strong>Collaborator:</strong> You thrive in <strong>cross-functional teams</strong>, connecting engineering with data science and product.</li><li><strong>Mentor:</strong> You enjoy <strong>raising the technical bar</strong> and shaping best practices in data-centric engineering.</li></ul> <p>WHAT’S THE JOB LIKE?</p> <p>Day-to-day work &amp; projects cooking</p> <p>You’ll be part of the <strong>Insight as a Product</strong> team in the Mobility Vertical, building the foundation for how Vend delivers actionable insights to users. Your day involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust backend services and data pipelines that enable real-time analytics and machine learning.</p> <p>Key projects include:</p> <ul><li>Building and maintaining <strong>microservices</strong> and <strong>event-driven architectures</strong>.</li><li>Designing scalable <strong>data pipelines</strong> with strong focus on <strong>data lineage, observability</strong>, and <strong>governance</strong>.</li><li>Developing <strong>APIs</strong> and <strong>data storage layers</strong> that deliver insight-ready datasets.</li><li>Enabling <strong>ML model management</strong> for deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle automation.</li><li>Collaborating closely with teams across <strong>Oslo</strong> and <strong>Krakow</strong> to ensure seamless integration and delivery.</li></ul> <p>The challenge to turn into an opportunity</p> <p>Vend is scaling its <strong>insight ecosystem</strong>, meaning this role will help shape how data flows, transforms, and powers decision-making across millions of users.
