About the role:
Our product design team is built on a strong foundation of end-to-end UX/UI design. To date, our product designers have successfully "run the gamut"—from initial discovery to final hand-off. As we scale, we are looking to elevate our insights by bringing on a dedicated Senior UX Researcher to join the product design team.
In this role, you aren’t replacing the research our product designers do; you are deepening it. You will be the resident expert in research methodology and usability testing, providing the rigorous data and "new problem" discovery that allows our product design team to build with 100% confidence.
Key responsibilities:
- Advance Our Discovery: Build upon the generative research our team has started. You will lead deep-dive ethnographic studies and stakeholder interviews to uncover complex, "new-to-market" problems that define our future roadmap.
- Professionalize the Testing Pipeline: Take our evaluative testing to the next level. You will design, recruit for, and moderate high-rigor usability tests that provide the design team with definitive, evidence-based "Design Directives."
- Mixed-Methods Leadership: Bridge the gap between "what users say" and "what users do" by blending qualitative interviews with quantitative metrics (A/B testing, heatmaps, and telemetry data).
- Strategic Hand-offs: Function as a specialized consultant to the UX/UI team. You will synthesize raw data into clear, actionable findings that the designers can immediately translate into world-class interfaces.
- Operationalize Research: Design and manage a sustainable recruitment pipeline, ensuring we have a steady "pulse" of feedback from our actual customer base.
The ideal candidate has:
- The "Researcher’s Researcher": You are deeply well-versed in the nuances of research methodology. You know exactly when to use a diary study versus a tree test, and you can defend those choices to leadership.
- A Collaborative Partner: You respect the work the UX/UI team has done to date. You see yourself as an advocate who empowers them with better data, not a gatekeeper who slows them down.
- Independent & Proactive: You are comfortable working autonomously to craft this role’s workflows, selecting the right toolstack and establishing best practices for the entire department.
- Strategic Storyteller: You don't just deliver spreadsheets; you deliver narratives. You can connect a user’s frustration in a testing session to a long-term business opportunity.
Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years of dedicated UX Research experience, preferably in complex B2B, SaaS or enterprise environments.
- Expertise: Mastery of both generative (discovery) and evaluative (testing) methods. You should be comfortable discussing statistical significance as well as thematic coding.
- Pipeline Management:
