Responsibilities
A major success factor for the company continues to be the development and deployment of breakthrough Digital/DSP and mixed signal Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) that drive the performance and value of new products. We have an exciting internship opportunity for a Digital & DSP/ASIC R&D engineer.
- Participate in the entire spectrum of full ASIC design activities including definition, architectures, DSP design, digital logic design, IP validation, verification, and synthesis.
- Architect, design, implement, and verify the DSP and digital blocks for the ASIC
- Integrate and interface with high-performance analog measurement circuits and help invent new DSP algorithms that minimize impairments and extend performance.
- Participate in the verification of the full ASIC and the turn-on and debug of the ASIC in a product system.
- Help us establish, improve, and automate ASIC tools and verification methodologies to increase productivity, quality, and effectiveness of the team.
We are located in beautiful Colorado Springs at the base of Pikes Peak. You’ll collaborate in a rich team environment where we design and optimize Keysight ASICs to satisfy Test & Measurement product functionality, quality, and schedule requirements. This job will be part of Keysight Laboratories, a world-renowned technology organization which enables Keysight to be first to market with breakthrough products and solutions.
- Digital simulation at multiple levels of the design hierarchy
- Verification of digital functions
- Digital RTL design
- Coding/scripting assignments
- Power analysis/extraction
- Design documentation
- Review of existing documentation to understand and influence IC requirements, functionality, and performance.
- Close collaboration with physical design, test, and packaging teams as well as system-level integration teams.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and in at least the Junior year. Minimum eligible GPA: 3.0
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn and contribute.
- Strong interaction skills and ability to collaborate in a team setting.
- Coursework or related experience in Hardware/Circuit Design, Digital Logic, Hardware Description Languages, Digital Signal Processing, Computer Science, and/or Semiconductor Devices/VLSI
- Excellent understanding of and ability to apply Electrical Engineering fundamentals.
- Excellent understanding and experience with digital theory and circuit design
- Excellent understanding and some experience with digital simulation
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Python, Ruby, and HTML
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system environment

Colorado Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.73 an hour
Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region
