Position Summary and Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruiting

  • Recruiting Evaluation (Men’s & Women’s Basketball): Research / evaluate the on- and off-court fit of prospective student-athletes at St. Joe’s – both high school and transfer prospective student-athletes

    • On court: Development/implement quantitative analyses that will help predict basketball success of various prospects at the A10 level

    • Off court: Develop/implement methods to measure leadership, character, work ethic, body language, academic engagement, and other intangible attributes to help predict success at St. Joe’s

    • Meet with pro and college personnel staff members to identify best practices

  • Revenue Share (Men’s & Women’s Basketball): Identify the revenue share budgets of A10, Big 5 and other peer groups through use of basketball network, word of mouth, and publically available data 

    • Work with basketball staff on revenue share valuation of PSAs - help build a model for roster construction within the identified annual budget

    • Represent basketball programs in all strategic planning related to non-philanthropic revenue generation to support revenue share 

    • Partner with University fundraisers responsible for generating philanthropic gifts to support revenue share through presentations, information and access to the program

    • Evaluate third party solutions to and innovative ways to manage and fund NIL license agreements

  • Recruiting Presentations (Men’s Basketball): Produce creative digital, print, and video materials to strengthen the program brand and appeal 

    • Assist in planning and hosting of official and unofficial visits

Student-Athlete NIL Activities (Men’s Basketball)

  • Serve as the point of contact for men’s basketball student-athletes on all matters related to NIL license agreements

    • Manage the contracting and payment process

    • Utilize WorkDay and other technology to track revenue and expenses

    • Track student-athlete brand ambassador activities conducted by student-athletes on behalf of the University

NBA Scouts & Agents (Men’s Basketball)

  • Serve at the program expert on agents and representatives 

    • Work with SJU compliance to ensure that basketball student-athletes have the compliance information needed to make decisions about domestic and international professional careers

    • Assist student-athletes with navigating processes related to domestic and international professional careers

  • Serve as the point of contact for all NBA scouts and other personnel, including practice and game attendance and outreach  

Game Scheduling (Men’s Basketball)

  • Use metrics to identify the optimal schedule model each season based on the team’s goals 

  • Work with the head and assigned assistant coach to create the specific schedule each season, with a focus on competitive success and revenue generation

    • Work with SJU ticket and marketing staff to ensure that proposed game schedule aligns with annual ticket revenue goals
