Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Transit Architecture Lead to be based in our Clifton, NJ office. This position will be responsible for winning work and building AECOM’s portfolio of transit projects and will be supported by AECOM’s operational and technical teams.
The Transit Architecture Lead will be responsible for the following items:
- Grow AECOM’s Architectural Transit portfolio and project opportunities in New Jersey, collaborating with the AECOM transportation engineering leadership.
- Collaborate with AECOM’s NYC Transit leadership on key pursuits and opportunities
- Will continue current relationships with key NJ Transit agencies and develop new relationships within the same agencies in order to grow the practice
- Will work within a multi-disciplinary transit practice consisting of architects and engineers.
- Will provide Thought and Design leadership on key projects and Programs
- Will work with team to identify and pursue growth opportunities and lead project teams
- Will be responsible for negotiating contracts and business terms with clients and internal to AECOM
- Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with senior-level architects and/or designers within the company and with key officials of other organizations and companies, and is skilled in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues
- Will demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature architectural judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual structure/design problems, determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse activities
AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. Our teams have worked on signature projects such as the London 2012 Olympic Park and Legacy Framework, to the new plan for the LA2028 Olympics, to industrial facilities for GE and Rolls-Royce, to headquarters and workplaces for NASA, Unilever, Sony Music, DirecTV, Box, Inc., and many Fortune 500 companies.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS in Architecture plus ten (10) of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
- Architecture License is required for this position
- 4 years of leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years experience as an architect in New York Metro area
- 20 years of overall experience
- NJ Registered Architect
- Has strong relationships with New Jersey transit agencies
- Strong communication and leadership skills
