Job Description:
The Graduate Teaching Assistant / Course Assistant supports the instructional, administrative, and learning objectives of Applied Strategic Marketing (HNZ 94-708). This role helps enhance student learning, maintain course operations, and support faculty through academic, technical, and facilitative contributions. The position is designed to provide professional teaching experience while ensuring high‑quality educational delivery. The position is also strategic in redeveloping the class to make it more focused on AI’s disruption in Marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Support:
Assist with course delivery (in‑person, hybrid, or online)
Facilitate discussions, breakout sessions, or workshops
Provide clarification on assignments and concepts
Hold office hours to support student learning
Academic Support:
Grade assignments using instructor‑provided rubrics
Provide constructive, timely feedback
Monitor student progress and flag concerns
Maintain grading accuracy and fairness
Course Operations:
Manage Canvas (LMS) content and announcements
Track assignment submissions
Coordinate logistics for activities, speakers, or simulations
Support classroom technology or instructional tools
Student Engagement:
Foster supportive learning environments
Encourage participation and collaboration
Respond to student inquiries within established response times
Administrative & Professional Responsibilities:
Attend planning meetings with instructor
Maintain confidentiality of student information
Uphold academic integrity standards
Complete tasks reliably and on schedule
Application Instructions
Required:
Enrolled or recently graduated graduate student in good academic standing
Strong communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated reliability and professionalism
Subject matter competence in course topic
Preferred:
Prior teaching, tutoring, or facilitation experience
Experience with Canvas (LMS)
Experience with collaborative or experiential learning environments
Prior student in Applied Strategic Marketing (HNZ 94-708)
Time Commitment: Typically 20 hours per week during the academic term. Workload may vary around major assignment deadlines.
