The Job

The Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in the accounting team at evo. This role will be heavily involved in supporting the month end closing process. Duties such as bank account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing and posting journal entries will be common. Along with the month end process preparing, posting, and maintaining timely tax returns to various agencies nationwide will be common. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual, capable of handling day to day responsibilities, month end deadlines, and other projects as assigned. This role offers the candidate an opportunity to expand their knowledge of accounting, finance, and tax compliance.

The Opportunity

  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. 
  • Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements, accounts, and ensure discrepancies are resolved efficiently. 
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company's financial performance. 
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in tax preparation and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations. 
  • Audit Support: Support internal and external auditors during financial audits, providing documentation and explanations as necessary. 
  • Expense Management: Monitor and control expenses, working closely with other departments to ensure compliance with budget guidelines. 
  • Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost-saving or revenue generation. 
  • Data Entry: Accurate and timely data entry to maintain the financial database and accounting systems. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 
  • Relevant accounting experience, including familiarity with accounting principles and standards
  • Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports.
  • Attention to detail and deadline-oriented
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

The Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus. 
  • NetSuite/Oracle experience
