Job Description

The devops engineer is somebody who will work across teams to achieve product outcomes.
We are building repeatable platforms for infrastructure using infrastructure as code so that we can maintain and simplify maintenance and reliability of services.

Once the platforms are built we have a strong emphasis on evangelism and education so that the users can fully utilize the solutions provided.

We are a team focused group and we work hard to ensure that we all succeed together.

• You are a motivated self starter who knows how to identify key tasks and follow through to completion.
• Knows the difference between the theoretical best solution and the solution that delivers to our customers on time.
• Solid understanding of git and branching workflows.
• Ability to communicate in a calm and concise manner with multiple team stakeholders.
• Experience with development tools such as Jenkins/Bamboo/Jira/Confluence/etc.
• Ability to troubleshoot build issues and provide resolutions for developers.
• Knowledge of linux/freebsd, make, gradle, and etc.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in software development with minimum 2.5+ years release management, devops, automation hands on experience.
• Understanding of configurations as code.
• Strong desire to automate and promote ci/cd.
• You have an understanding of compliance issues and design with these in mind from start to finish.
• Strong ability to find solutions to problems and implement using open source tooling.
• Love of documenting solutions such that the person who follows you can walk in your footsteps.
• Comfortable in a multi-platform environment.
• Understanding of AWS/docker/terraform/packer/kubernetes for configuring build and infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with bash/Java/groovy/C/javascript and the ability to use docs to find answers as needed.
• Knowledge and hands on experience with some flavor of kubernetes, eks, etc from an admin infra perspective.
• Ability to work in a team setting.  

Additional Information

The base salary range for this full-time position is $107,250 to $165,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
