Food Services Professional – Job Description

Job Summary:
The Draper 2 Food Services Professional oversees all aspects of campus food service operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality meal service for students and staff. This position coordinates with the District Food Services Director, ensures adherence to state and federal guidelines, and maintains a safe, welcoming environment. They play a key role in food delivery, daily paperwork, and customer service - while fostering teamwork and operational excellence.

Schedule:
Part-time, Monday–Friday, roughly 9am to 2 pm.  Start and end times can be flexible based on campus and individual needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, setup, service, and cleanup.

  • Process daily paperwork, ensuring all counts and reports are accurate.

  • Ensure accurate portioning and compliance with USDA meal program requirements.

  • Monitor and maintain food safety standards, including temperature logs and sanitation procedures.

  • Assist with parent communications and customer service, including lunch emails, ordering, and payment inquiries.

  • Monitor inventory and place timely orders to maintain adequate stock.

  • Support students in need of lunch assistance.

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health regulations.

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills

  • Excellent computer skills - will train on specific programs we use (Hot Lunches Online, Google Sheets, Email, Skyward, etc.)

  • Required to obtain a State of Utah Food Handlers Permit within 30 days of employment

Physical Demands:

  • Maintain the ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, pull, and lift items weighing 50 lbs or less. Stand or walk 95% of the workday.
