Description
The Department of Political Science invites applicants for a tenure-track position in political philosophy beginning fall 2026. We seek broadly trained candidates prepared to teach the introductory and advanced courses in the history of political philosophy. Appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates should provide evidence of commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarly potential.
As part of a full teaching load, the candidate will also occasionally contribute to Middlebury’s First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term course offerings. All faculty at Middlebury are also expected to contribute to service to the College including, but not limited to, committee membership and, once tenured, serving as Director or Chair of a Program or Department when asked.
