About the role
Overview
The Tax Accountant preparers and coordinates tax compliance, reporting, and planning deliverables for internal stakeholders (domestic and international), external advisors, and auditors across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. Requirements include timely tax preparation, monitoring tax law updates, and maintaining the tax calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of federal, state, and local income, sales/use, and other applicable tax workpapers
- Update and maintain the master tax calendar with tax due dates and respective payments
- Perform preliminary tax research regarding changes in tax laws (Federal, State, and International)
- Compile and coordinate documentation for tax audits and inquiries
- Maintain tax depreciation schedules
- Prepare monthly Avalara filings, tracking sales tax due dates and requirements
- Other special projects and ad hoc tax research, as requested
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience
- 0–3 years of tax or public accounting experience (recent graduates welcome)
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational capabilities
- Eagerness to learn and develop technical tax knowledge in a professional environment
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA track or in progress
- Prior tax internships or exposure to tax
