Job Summary
North Anna Power Station is seeking a Process Assistant II or III to join its Engineering department. Someone who is outgoing and independent will do well in this role. Will support 1 Director, 2 Managers, 10 Supervisors, and 60-80 employees. The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. High level daily job responsibilities are timekeeping for the department, placing orders, organizing lunches, Office equipment, Onboarding new hires, Database work in Excel and Access, Lexicon, Vendor Tech updates, Assignments in Corrective Action System, Data entry.
Performs a wide variety of specialized and complex clerical functions in the transaction of part(s) of Engineering processes. Answers questions or provides information related to Engineering processes or functions.
Work requires some knowledge in the area of assignment as well as applicable department and company policies and procedures. This will include preparing established reports in SAP, creating requisitions for purchase orders, monitoring email inboxes, and managing SharePoint sites.
Work requires analysis, discretion and detailed, in depth knowledge in the area of assignment as well as applicable department and company policies and procedures to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documents or materials to include: Completing and verifying documents , Selecting and compiling data, Performing simple calculations to translate data and information into required results and investigating and providing routine explanations for variations from generally expected results, working with several Engineering processes and databases, Completing special assignments and projects, utilizing computer systems and/or related equipment to record, enter, store and retrieve information, compiling regular and special reports using established formats and procedures, resolving discrepancies and may communicate with various administrative and professional employees within and outside the company, identifying process improvement opportunities, providing guidance to incumbents with less experience, responsible for maintenance all department office equipment (copy machines, office supplies, furniture, etc.).
May be required to be a member of the stations Emergency Response Organization
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Process Assistant II - Associate degree and three (3) years of general office experience OR; HS diploma or GED and five (5) years of general office experience
Process Assistant III - Associate degree and five (5) years of general office experience OR;HS diploma or GED and seven (7) years of general office experience
- Records or plant experience is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and SAP
- Ability to prioritize work and exercise considerable discretion in performance of duties
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple activities and resources
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of company and department procedures
- Basic knowledge of SharePoint
