We advise our clients in addressing their strategic planning, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, tax and fair market value documentation needs. Your key responsibilities
As a Staff within Business Valuation you're likely to spend your day to day working on financial valuations, building and reviewing detailed financial models, working with management on parts of the acquisition process and regularly undertake valuations for strategic priorities.
You may also support FP&A‑related analyses, including forecasts, budgets, long‑range plans, and scenario modeling, goodwill impairment in accordance with ASC 350 as well as purchase price allocation (PPA) analyses in accordance with ASC 805 for financial reporting and transaction support purposes.
Skills and attributes for success
- Commercial - as part of the team you will regularly advise businesses on valuations issues, including transaction modeling, IRR analyses, and value creation assessment, with regards to acquisition or divestitures.
- Regulatory and Accounting - you will work with management as part of an acquisition process to understand how the value of acquired intangible and financial assets will impact accounting requirements.
- Taxation - you will regularly undertake valuations for fiscal purposes in the US market and advise clients on all aspects of US tax valuation issues.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting or business with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- At least 1 year of experience in business valuation, financial modeling, FP&A, transaction advisory, investment banking, or a related analytical role
- Financial modelling skills including experience building models from scratch, such as DCF models, PPA models, scenario and sensitivity analyses, budgeting and forecasting models, and transaction/investment return analyses.
- Demonstrated record of solving complex problems and completing challenging projects.
- You must either reside in or be in a commutable distance to your office location for this position.
- The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Previous valuation experience in professional services/Big 4 Firm.
- Advanced financial modeling experience supporting FP&A, M&A, capital planning, or valuation engagements.
- ASA/AM/CFA designations are a plus.
- Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.
