MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Develops and supervises the execution of the Preventative Maintenance Plan.
  • Ensures systematic failure, problem and performance analysis on equipment, defining corrective actions and generating improvement opportunities.
  • Supports the Engineering area in the research and assessment of the best equipment available and the start up of new pieces of equipment.
  • Optimizes reliability and maintainability of equipment by: defining the maintenance strategy for each system, developing and supervising the execution of the Preventive maintenance plan, ensuring systematic failure, problem and performance analysis on equipment, defining corrective actions and generating improvement opportunities; providing technical support to emergency crews and staff areas.
  • Interprets electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Performs and oversees inspections in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Performs LOTO procedures on all equipment in his/her area or responsibility.
  • Performs general electric and electronic inspections, diagnosis and repairs and replacements autonomously.
  • Performs electric and electronic activities such as: low and medium voltage panel repairs, PLC programs loading, AC motor speed control.
  • Guarantees technical resource availability, ensuring a suitable minimum stock.
  • Draws up the maintenance cost budget and keeps costs within agreed limits.
  • Ensures the application of health, safety and environment standards and practices.
  • Coordinates and executes within his team the compliance of inspection plans and basic preventive maintenance.
  • Instructs team members and inducts new hires on basic maintenance issues and maintenance tasks.
  • Manages maintenance related information, updating maintenance reporting systems and shift-log (Example: SAP PM). Follows up repair work ensuring the effectiveness of the task or activity.
  • Monitors, understands, and troubleshoots alarms and permissive in PLCs.
  • Detects abnormalities on field sensors, actuators, PLC components, PLC sequencers, motors, and variable speed drives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a related occupation performing each of the following: leading technical teams in operating and/or maintaining heavy manufacturing steel industrial system utilizing PLC hardware and software such as Siemens PLC 300 and 400, Profinet base I/O board; troubleshooting, maintaining, replacing electrical AC motors; troubleshooting and replacing pneumatic systems and equipment such as pumps, valves, cylinders, hydraulic motors, filters, hydraulic tank instrumentation, heat exchanges, and recirculation circuits; troubleshooting, replacing, maintaining and repairing torque transmission equipment and systems; maintaining, operating, and repairing lubrication systems (centralized and non-centralized); maintaining and operating automated cranes.
