What you’ll get to do:
Perform life cycle and root cause failure analysis of steam facility equipment, including boilers, cooling towers, condensers, and other high temperature and pressure systems.
Research, plan, design and develop new systems and operating profiles to increase test facility efficiency.
Perform thermal and heat transfer analysis on various test facility systems and components.
Support testing of main propulsion and power generation equipment.
Prepare technical reports and present to Test Facility Engineering Management.
Prepare proposals, statement of work, project planning and coordinate operator/contractor work assignments.
Responsible for Test Facility Operational Procedures to ensure safe operations and technical accuracy.
Maintain and develop preventative maintenance procedures and corrective maintenance planning for overhaul and repair of systems and components.
Develop and maintain program specific Pre and Post Test checklists.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 5+ years of relevant work experience; Master’s Degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience; PhD and 0 years of relevant work experience
mechanical and/or electrical engineering work experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Project Management and MS Office competency
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Test Facility and/or Power Generation/Chemical Facility operations experience
Proven competency in the operation of propulsion and power plant machinery
Fluid and Thermodynamic Systems experience
FEA modeling experience
Design Software experience (AutoCAD, Cero, Solidworks or equivalent)
