About the role
<p><strong>About the Team</strong></p>
<p>The Strategic Accounts team in Germany is divided into Automotive & Manufacturing, Retail, Logistics & CPG & FSI, Energy & Telco. This is the most important quota carrier in Central Europe and extremely successful with impressive growth year over year. This Senior Director will report into the RVP, Enterprise - DACH who has been leading the Strategic Accounts team since 2019.</p>
<p><strong>Mission </strong></p>
<p>We are looking for a Senior Sales Director to run our most important and rapidly growing business with Automotive & Manufacturing in Germany. You will lead a team of Strategic Account Executives and will be measured by achieving your team's overall quota for Databricks consumption and Commit-Deals. You will oversee and motivate the sales team, implementing sales plans, developing new business, expanding existing business, and delivering accurate sales forecasting and reporting. </p>
<p>This is an opportunity to lead an integral part of the EMEA sales team, so we are looking for owners, who will want to be the very best at what they do.</p>
<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Build and manage a growing team of Sales Executives, ensuring you coach them to develop the skills and behaviours they will need to succeed</li>
<li>Establish company territory plans, team structure, individual quotas and patches for your team, including investment capacity requirements</li>
<li>Report on revenue forecast and strategic GTM initiatives</li>
<li>Partner with cross-functional teams to create, implement and manage a complete revenue and customer success process</li>
<li>Be the voice of Databricks by communicating the value proposition through proposals and presentations</li>
<li>Lead and mentor a team of motivated Enterprise Account Executives to increase growth across our Tech Startup and Enterprise customer segments in Germany</li>
<li>Inspire a culture of teamwork, leading with value and achieving desired customers outcomes</li>
<li>Utilise your business network to develop a pipeline and hire qualified candidates to grow the team</li>
<li>Develop trust-based relationships with customers and partners to ensure Germany’s long-term success</li>
<li>Encourage learning and ongoing understanding of technical product details and our future product roadmap</li>
<li>Establish a regional growth and investment plan in the first 90 days</li>
<li>Develop and deliver our strategic growth plans in Germany, in collaboration with the regional leaders across EMEA , ensure forecast accuracy and a predictable, high-growth business</li>
<li>Establish and expand Strategic Regional System Integrator partnerships to help develop our German customer base and prospects</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What You’ll Need</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience as a high-growth enterprise software sales leader (10+ years) with a background in leading high-performing sales teams serving Enterprise and Tech Startup customers in Germany within the Big Data, Cloud, or SaaS Sales Industry</li>
<li>Ability to engage with and hire the best sales talent in the market</li>
<li>Clear focus and emphasis on methodology-based sales coaching, MEDDPIC and a Challenger mentality</li>
<li>Expert knowledge of value-based sales with both the business and IT stakeholders including C-suite</li>
<li>Experience in leadership roles focused on managing new sales organisations to influence and develop objectives within Big Data, Cloud, or SaaS sales</li>
<li>Articulate and promote the value and align it with customer outcomes</li>
<li>History of exceeding sales quotas in similar high-growth technology companies</li>
<li>Knowledge of developing the partner ecosystem to help grow Enterprise strategic territories</li>
<li>Success implementing strategies for consumption and commitment-based sales revenue models</li>
<li>Deliver accurate sales forecasts and management reporting using SFDC and Clari (preferable not mandatory)</li>
<li>German and fluent English language skills</li>
