Senior Software Engineer - DTU Biosustain

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing new analytical and machine learning tools that will help to interpret complex multimodal data, and you will do it in collaboration with top research scientist in the field and in an international, motivating, flexible, supportive, and friendly environment at a leading research and education institution in Europe.</p> <p><strong>The Informatics Platform </strong><br/> The Informatics Platform at CfB is composed of three teams that provide support to the Centre’s research groups and core facilities and help to extend and promote data and data science at CfB and DTU. The platform includes: the Research Data Management, the Data Science Platform and the Research Software Engineering teams that aim to develop innovative and robust tools to make the best out of the large amounts of data generated at the Centre and contribute to creating products and processes that are environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and economically viable. Further, the Informatics Platform interacts closely with several Data science-focused research labs at the Center. In this role, you will join several experienced developers focusing on the digitalization and automation of research processes and workflows in collaboration with data stewards, data scientists and researchers. This will open multiple possibilities for the candidate to grow together with the team and to become an influential contributor to the data science landscape at DTU and in Denmark.</p> <p><strong>The job</strong> <br/> As a senior software engineer your primary tasks will be to: </p> <ul> <li>Contribute to the center’s and your team’s strategy and overall goals</li> <li>Be an active and motivated team member</li> <li>Help to define and implement Software Engineering guidelines and standards</li> <li>Contribute to the implementation of Cfb’s data infrastructure that aims to become a blueprint for other departments at DTU.</li> </ul> <p><strong>The ideal candidate has the following skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>A Master’s or PhD degree within Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar</li> <li>Extensive experience in software development in multiple languages (Python, Javascript, etc.)</li> <li>Strong software engineering skills such as documentation, testing and CI/CD</li> <li>Expertise in cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure)</li> <li>Proficient written and spoken English</li> <li>Enjoys working with people and has good communication skills</li> <li>Curious, proactive, motivated and able to work independently </li> <li>Basic knowledge of agile development principles</li> </ul> <p><strong>Salary and appointment terms</strong> <br/> The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
