Position Overview:
As the Director of Information Technology, you will manage all facets of the corporate IT environment and team. This includes providing support, implementation, and design services for the technical infrastructure, both on-prem and hosted, leading a team of IT staff, and correcting applicable security risks. This position will also be responsible for managing software licensing and budgets and developing metrics to report on operational IT activities. This is a hands-on position.

Primary Job Duties
As Director, Information Technology your responsibilities may include:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals.
- Lead projects within the team or represent the team in cross-functional projects.
- Define and implement security controls at the request of information security leadership for applicable areas of responsibility.
- Determine and manage priorities based on understanding the team’s objectives and management expectations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
- Coordinate multiple IT operations.
Strategic Planning & Development:
- Prepare metrics and reports for stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Develop and lead the execution of IT strategic roadmaps.
- Create solutions that address situational and systemic issues to continuously improve the business’s experience with the IT team.
- Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
- Support project lifecycle tasks: take ownership of projects, manage timelines, and ensure successful completion.
Infrastructure & Systems Management:
- Architect, deliver, and administrate critical business systems such as:
- OnPrem and cloud-hosted identity providers
- Network infrastructure systems
- Hypervisors and Virtualization
- IVRs and VOIP
- Communications and Email systems
- HRIS solutions
- Office/Productivity solutions
- Endpoint Security and MDM solutions
- Project, Service Management, and Inventory solutions
- Privileged Access Management solutions
- Manage system updates, including security patches and endpoint security.
- Maintain a robust Security-First mindset in all tasks.
Security & Business Continuity:
- Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergencies or data loss.
- Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improving IT infrastructure.
- Participate in IT security audits or investigations.
- Participate in planning and implementation of Business Continuity design.
Recommended Technical Knowledge:
Successful candidates are recommended to have experience with key technological concepts such as:
- Network and Infrastructure Security: Firewalls, IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), IPSEC/VPN, SD-WAN, DNS, DHCP, and IP subnetting.
- Virtualization and Cloud Computing: Hypervisors (e.g., VMware vSphere, Hyper-V), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Identity and Access Management (IAM): SAML, SCIM, SSO, Directory services (e.g., AD), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication).
- Authentication and Authorization Frameworks: OAuth, OpenID Connect, and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control).
- Telephony and VoIP: QoS for voice traffic, SIP and RTP protocols, and integration with collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
- Security and Deployment Practices: Zero Trust principles, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE), and Zero-Touch deployment proce
