Summary

This is a promotional position that oversees the production lines or areas processing poultry products, assisting the department supervisor in the daily operation coordination the workforce, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment.  Requires working with raw poultry products. Usually works five to six days a week; hours and overtime vary due to production need, generally 4:30 pm - 3:00 am. 

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Remove lids from chute approx. 5’ high and systematically place them on box on a moving conveyor 28” high. At a rate of 12 boxes per minutes.
  2. Stack boxes that weigh between 40-75 lb. According to label code on wooden pallet that are 4” high up to height approx. 5.
  3. Make sure that all the labels are facing toward the outside of the pallet, so they ca be read. Able to lift to 90 lb.
  4. Must be able to obtain a pallet jack license  
  5. Must be able to work in the icehouse.

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.

Experience Requirements

External: worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field

Internal: minimum of 6 months in current position, 2 occurrences or less, no active disciplinaries.

Experience Preferred

Must have lead or supervisory experience in production environment preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
