Job Summary
The Sr Consultant is responsible, on behalf of the Executive Sponsor or Business Sponsor, for the successful delivery of new capabilities via the coordinated management of multiple, complex, technology intensive, cross-functional projects, their inter-dependencies, and risks, and in many cases, ongoing operations which are directed toward a common objective. This role works cross-functionally with Program/Project Managers for the execution of their projects to monitor cost, schedule, quality, and technical and operational delivery of the program. This role is responsible for working with different business units, internal and external stakeholders to ensure the overall implementation is well understood and operational readiness is achieved.Job Description
Key Responsibilities/Duties
- Directs and manages all phases of the project management lifecycle for the most complex, high-risk projects for the organization and often include external vendors.
- Implements tools and methodologies for delivery teams to manage programs and projects including scope, schedules, risks, issues, and resource tracking for both Agile and waterfall projects.
- Evaluates the cost and feasibility of multiple options/alternatives to resolve project issues and make recommendations on those issues that best meet both project and corporate objectives.
- Project budgeting and financial management required to deliver within allocated funding.
- Organizes teams across business and technology; develop relationships and communicate with all levels from individual contributors to executive leadership, facilitate and mediate between people and teams.
- Incorporating the corporate strategic direction, define impact of tasks/events for business teams and the organization. Proactively identifying conflict/integration issues, and leading team members to parse/synthesize issues of the highest complexity.

Qualifications – what you need to perform the job
Certification and Licensure
- PMP certification a plus
Education
- Required (minimum): Bachelor’s degree in project management or related field-business administration, management, finance, or engineering.
- Preferred: Master’s degree
Experience
- Required (minimum): 8-10 years of progressively responsible Project Management experience. Proven ability to complete complex high risk cross functional organizational projects.
- Preferred: 8-10 years of Health Care environment and technical project management
Skill Requirements
- Ability to thrive in a matrix-management, hands-on environment that demands a consultative approach and solutions that span multiple environments in a business area. Coach/mentor project managers and effectively lead in a matrixed environment.
- Significant initiative and autonomy, balanced with an ability to integrate information for informed action and against an understanding of proper timing and paths for escalating support requests of leadership.
- Strong negotiating, influencing, and advocacy skills, ability to lead others both internally and externally to ensure the success of the program.
- Demonstrate critical thinking.
- Influence project owner, sponsor, steering committee, and other appropriate senior management.
- Effectively manage difficult group dynamics to reach a positive outcome.
- Verbal and written skills, ability to facilitate planning and review sessions with senior management.
- High level presentation skills, including ability to interface and communicated changes to a broad range of internal and external contacts, as necessary. Ability to interact
