Job Overview
The Senior Manager, Pricing Strategy leads and implements pricing strategies across multiple divisions, projecting financial impact and maximizing business opportunities with a focus on sales, margin, and turnover. They partner with the Omni Buying, Merchant Planning, Digital, and Marketing teams to execute promotional and permanent markdowns tailored to their areas of business. They also interface with multiple DBMs and business leaders across relevant functions. In addition to overseeing the training and development of associates and assistants, the Senior Manager focuses on process improvement opportunities for their team and the broader pricing team. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
What You Will Do
- Review and validate actual sales and gross markdowns against projections, adjusting the markdown budget and developing strategies to drive sales in partnership with the Omni Buying and Merchant Planning teams.
- Lead weekly in-depth business reviews and collaborate with the Omni Buying team to identify underperforming items or categories and recommend appropriate pricing actions.
- Participate in business strategy meetings with the Omni Buying and Site Merchandising teams to understand overall goals, budgets, strategies, marketing constraints, and key operating parameters.
- Determine optimal markdown strategies to maximize sales and margin throughout each product's lifecycle.
- Ensure markdown strategies are optimized for both online and in-store execution needs.
- Collaborate with Data Science to fine-tune the pricing algorithm, ensuring its recommendations are accurate and actionable for the teams.
- Support the development and rollout of the Unified Price Management (UPM) tool by partnering with product and tech teams, providing feedback, and participating in relevant meetings and touchpoints.
- Manage Omni POS and permanent markdowns to drive sales and gross margin.
- Partner with DBMs/Omni Buyers to develop and execute markdown strategies tailored to their specific areas of business.
- Oversee inventory currency to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Maintain regular and dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
Skills You Will Need
Analytical and Financial Acumen: Ability to review and validate sales data, projections, and markdowns, adjusting strategies to drive sales while maximizing margin and turnover.
Strategic Thinking: Capability to think creatively and strategically, determining optimal markdown strategies across product lifecycles and aligning with business goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to partner effectively with Omni Buying, Merchant Planning, Digital, Marketing, and Site Merchandising teams, as well as DBMs and business leaders.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in collaborating with Data Science to refine pricing algorithms and ensure recommendations are reliable and actionable.
Project Management: Ability to lead business reviews, drive process improvements, and support the development and implementation of tools like the Unified Price Management (UPM) system.
Communication: Excellent communication skills to present information clearly and concisely, keep stakeholders informed, and facilitate open and continuous dialogue across teams.
Leadership and Development: Experience in managing and developing associates, overseeing teams, and fostering an environment focused on process improvement.
Problem Solving: Ability to identify underperforming products and categories, recommend pricing actions, and solve problems with a creative and technical approach.
Technical Proficiency: Solid knowledge of MS Office and the ability to leverage technology to support pricing strategies and decisions.
