VP – PAVE Oncology Portfolio Lead

The VP - Oncology Portfolio Lead will spearhead the strategic development and operational execution of Pfizer’s U.S. Oncology Portfolio within the newly formed PAVE (Portfolio Alternative Value Enablement) team. This role is accountable for optimizing the value of oncology assets by identifying innovative partnership opportunities and driving cross-functional collaboration. The role will act as the central leader between internal and external stakeholders to evolve and execute a portfolio-based approach to commercialization and strategic investment.
The position has a U.S. geographic focus, with global collaboration as needed, and will be critical in delivering the budgeted P&L, realizing cross-portfolio synergies, shaping asset lifecycle decisions, and maximizing long-term impact for oncology products
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, healthcare, or related fields
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, or relevant industry
- Significant successful (10+ years) commercial experience
- Proven experience in oncology therapeutic area, with strong knowledge of product commercialization lifecycle management
- Proven experience of managing P&L for a large portfolio of branded drugs
- Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional teams, ideally in a matrixed environment
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, make intelligent trade-offs, and promote collaboration to deliver winning results
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with experience managing portfolio-level tradeoffs
- Experience with financial and operational drivers of portfolio planning and value-based initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into actionable insights for diverse audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced business-related degree
- Experience in innovative value-based or alternative access models
- Deep understanding of GTN (Gross-to-Net) dynamics in oncology
- Familiarity with automation tools to drive efficiency
- Experience with direct people leadership and P&L ownership strongly preferred
Strategic Leadership:
- Lead the design and implementation of the Oncology portfolio strategy, aligning with broader PAVE goals
- Identify and prioritize GTM opportunities and innovative partnership opportunities that enhance the value of the Oncology Portfolio
- Own marketing model and feedback loops
- Develop strategic approaches to asset management that can inform Pfizer enterprise best practices
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with Portfolio Strategy & Partnerships teams for support on analytics, partners to enhance and capture value
- Coordinate with Market Access Lead to develop and implement GTN optimization strategies
- Partner with cross-functional teams to pilot initiatives that support test-learn-evolve cycles in oncology
Portfolio & Asset Management:
- Own and manage the Oncology Portfolio P&L
- Drive portfolio prioritization and optimization
- Align strategic goals with business units and medical affairs to ensure integrated decision-making
- Ensure timely execution and governance of key initiatives across brands within the oncology portfolio
- Partner with the Portfolio Strategy Lead on asset triage and functional resource planning
Team Development & Operations:
- Manage Oncology Portfolio Operations colleague to ensure operational execution of strategic initiatives
- Oversee resource planning, budgeting, and performance tracking for the oncology Portfolio
- Contribute to team capability building by sharing best practices and enabling continuous learning
Travel as required, up to 40% of time

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $256,100.00 to $426,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 30.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
