Project Overview
Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located at State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects.

Position Summary
Tank work on this assignment consists of the erection of all plate steel and appurtenances for the LNG tanks. Field Engineer must ensure Safe work practices and conditions at worksite. Ensure all Erection-works (materials, method & workmanship) comply with contract and design requirements. Liaise with the customer and ensure that customer nominated inspection points are met. Assist with the coordination and compilation of the Manufactures Data Report. General Inspection on all tank erection works.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and leads inspections of completed tank erection works, prior to and after welding activities.
- Ensure material deliveries for tank steel plate works comply with drawings and specifications.
- Coordinates all material deliveries, schedule, dimension control and resolve clash issues with suppliers and Tank design engineers. Provide technical input to Tank Erection Superintendents assigned to LNG full containment tanks.
- Coordinates with Engineering on plate erection constructability and design issues. Responsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting for all tank plate quantities in the assigned areas. Provides input to quantity tracking applications and review weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.
- Directs the preparation of requisitions for field procured materials, material substitution, services, equipment, tools, and consumables. Coordinates through Procurement to obtain these materials. Monitors direct hire and Subcontract plate erection operations and activities to ensure materials, equipment and quality comply with design and specifications.
- Plans and recommends procedures to be implemented by tank erection superintendents and subcontractors to ensure construction operations are within requirements for safety, engineering, specifications, meeting quality and schedule requirements.
- Champion the cause of ZERO Accident Philosophy. Ensure that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility.
- Responsible for the implementation of project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations. Ensures current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation. Monitor work activities to ensure the safety and quality of work performed and compliance with project specifications.
