Within Sales, we're focused on achieving outperformance across all of our channels, operating in highly competitive categories. This focus results in a dynamic, fast paced environment where cross functional teams are encouraged to collaborate to achieve success.

We have around 10,000 sales people across the world, within market roles and ranging in areas like Field Sales, Key Accounts, Trade Marketing and Category Development.

About the role

The Category Growth Manager plays a vital role in driving category growth within specific subsets of Business Unit categories, under the direction of the Director of Category Growth Management for the Business Unit. This individual will collaborate closely with the Director and cross-functional teams to execute category growth plans, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize the category product assortment, placement, pricing, and promotion strategies both online and offline.

Your responsibilities

In summary, you'll:

1.    Assist in the development and execution of category growth plans for designated subsets of categories within the regional Business Unit (BU), in alignment with overall business objectives.
2.    Work closely with the Director and other team members to formulate category management strategies focused on merchandising, assortment optimization, placement, pricing, and promotional initiatives.
3.    Conduct thorough analysis of shopper, consumer, retailer, syndicated, and loyalty data to contribute to actionable category plans.
4.    Support in the preparation and delivery of detailed category reviews, incorporating relevant data insights to drive informed decision-making.
5.    Collaborate with internal teams including sales, strategy, shopper marketing, and insights to ensure cohesive execution of category initiatives.
6.    Maintain accurate tracking and reporting mechanisms to monitor progress against goals and identify opportunities for incremental growth within assigned categories.
7.    Assist in presenting strategic insights and recommendations in various forums, including customer meetings and internal discussions.
8.    Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to drive collaboration and alignment on category growth initiatives.
9.    Stay updated on market trends, competitor strategies, and industry best practices to inform and refine category strategies.
10.    Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of category management processes and best practices.

The experience we're looking for

•    Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or related field.
•    Minimum 3-5 years of experience in category management, trade marketing, analytics, or related roles within the consumer-packaged goods industry.
•    Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using syndicated and panel data sources.
•    Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
•    Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
•    Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
•    Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management capabilities.
•    Familiarity with retail merchandising principles and trends is a plus.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
