Job Summary:

This leadership position is responsible for the College of Nursing's strategic financial direction. The Associate Dean of Finance and Business Services acts as the senior advisor to the Dean on financial matters and represents the Dean on such matters to the campus and the University. This position is responsible for ensuring that the budgetary and fiscal operations of the school are conducted in an effective, efficient, and responsible manner consistent with the rules and regulations of the University of Colorado and effectively plans and allocates financial resources to achieve the College’s stated education, research, and clinical objectives. This position plans, directs, and assesses the financial operations of the College.

This individual is also responsible for academic program evaluation and other fiscal analysis on a variety of unique and complex projects, and the development of short and long-range financial plans and projections for the school. The Associate Dean must be attentive to the unique needs of college constituencies, faculty, staff, and students. The Associate Dean must be committed to shared governance, teamwork, and creative leadership.

This position’s leadership is characterized by sound judgment, flexibility, creativity, resourcefulness, and excellent communication skills.

Examples of Work Performed:

·         Serve as the senior fiscal leader of the CU College of Nursing.

·         Serve as a senior advisor to the Dean on financial matters.

·         Serve as a member of campus-wide financial committee(s) to provide insight and advice on campus-wide matters while also representing the College of Nursing.

·         Investigate and identify internal and external budgeting and financial information needs.
