About the role

Position Summary 

The Spare Parts Clerk is responsible for receiving, recording, storing, and issuing spare parts and supplies to support injection molding and automated assembly operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate inventory by performing daily cycle counts and processing transactions related to inventory updates, material issues, adjustments, and purchase order receipts.

The primary responsibility is to manage the procurement, documentation, and storage of repair parts and supplies. The Spare Parts Clerk works under the general supervision of the MRO Buyer and Tool Crib Supervisor.

This position is 100% onsite at our Southington, CT manufacturing facility. 2nd shift 2:45p-11:15pm M-F

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive parts against purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory, Item Master and Auto Order attributes
  •  Place received parts in bin locations and perform appropriate ORACLE transaction.
  •  Verify that parts are being signed out and issued to the appropriate work order.
  •  Perform cycle counts and record in Oracle.
  •  Create purchase requisitions.
  •  Perform 6S activities and other projects as requested.
  • Perform basic inventory duties while working in a team environment
  • Create purchase requisitions and purchase orders as required
  • Day to day activities will include calling and following up with vendors, and equipment manufacturers to get information such as cost, weights, shipping information
  • Print and manage outstanding PO report
  • Store inventory items neatly and in an organized manner 
  • Operate hand truck as required to move items to designated areas
  • Pick, pull, receive and store materials from stock locations as required & accurately complete respective inventory transactions 
  • Perform daily cycle counts, and input data into CMMS system
  • Maintain Min/Max in Item Master 
  • Orders, replenishes, and ensures availability of materials needed completely and timely
  • Observe all safety and environmental procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products. Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment prints and specifications.
  • Knowledge of production and maintenance processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient utilization and understanding of ERP systems; Oracle experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience 

• High School diploma required. Associate’s degree from a two-year school or institution preferred.

• One to three years of related experience and/or training in data management or tooling. 

• Computer Proficiency with Excel, Word and ORACLE is desired.

• Perform simple arithmetical computations with speed and accuracy.

• Must be at least 18 years of age

Work Environment

  • While performing the job duties, the employee is required to use a ladder as well as bending to retrieve or store parts in bin locations.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
  • Work may involve proximity to manufacturing equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and or hear.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects of up to 25 pounds.
  • Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
