Job Summary:

The Operations and Supply Chain organization has an opportunity for a talented professional to join our team in a critical Supplier Engineering role for propulsion commodities who will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.

This position is an onsite role and can be located in any of the following locations: Andover MA, Tucson AZ, or McKinney TX. Relocation is not available.

What You Will Do:

  • Communicate and translate the technical data package to suppliers
  • Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
  • Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
  • Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
  • Manage product non-conformances
  • Drive root cause and corrective action
  • Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
  • Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
  • Support travel as needed (approx. 25-30%)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or engineering discipline in a factory environment
  • Project or program team management experience
  • Working in a matrixed or cross-functional team environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Current DoD clearance
  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Failure investigation and resolution
  • Requirements reviews with translation to buyers
  • Lean manufacturing
  • Read engineering drawings (CREO)
  • Engagement review of new or existing suppliers – capabilities, processes
