IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering New Graduate in Urbandale, IA to work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. This entry-level role offers hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one.
Primary responsibilities include assisting in engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while supporting project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will support work across commercial and institutional markets, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do
Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively while building and maintaining client relationships through professional communication
Support the execution of consulting projects by assisting with project planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives
Assist with documenting design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress
Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements
Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
Work within the project’s monetary budget while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations
