IT Intern (62501)

Position Overview:

 We are seeking a motivated IT Intern to join our team, focusing on providing technical support within Skilled Nursing Homes. This role will involve imaging computers and laptops, assisting with basic IT troubleshooting, and supporting end-users as an entry-level helpdesk technician. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in IT support and learning about healthcare IT environments.

Responsibilities:

• Imaging and Deployment: Configure and image computers and laptops for deployment across multiple skilled nursing facilities.
• Technical Support: Provide first-line technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Helpdesk Operations: Assist with logging support requests, prioritizing issues, and escalating tickets as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, and support activities.
• Training and Assistance: Conduct basic user training sessions and provide guidance on IT tools and resources.
• Network Support: Assist in basic network troubleshooting and connectivity issues.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Comfortable working in a healthcare setting and interacting with healthcare professionals and residents

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Windows operating systems
• Knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Previous experience in a technical support or customer service role is a plus

Work Environment:

• This position will primarily be based in skilled nursing facilities, requiring travel between different locations as needed
• The intern will work under the supervision of experienced IT professionals, receiving guidance and mentorship throughout the internship
