The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities:

GENERAL SUMMARY
Provides project management, logistic assistance, and coordination support at the professional level by taking charge supporting cross-functional teams on various departmental projects. Projects involving research, education initiatives, outreaching efforts, representing our department at tabling and relationship-building events, conduct relationship management with our current partners, assist in grant reporting, data collection, and departmental projects of moderate complexity. The Project Assistant will support education and outreaching efforts in TAVA, Next Generation of Surgery, SEPA, TIDES, research grant projects, and others.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Works closely with the Vice-Chair of Surgical Health Outcomes Research and Strategic Engagement (SHORE) and the Program Specialist of DISE who oversees education initiatives to manage, coordinate, and implement projects

  • Facilitates events and participation in Vice-Chair’s teachers training project.
  • Secures rooms, meals, and resources for all of our education initiatives.
  • Coordinates education initiatives such as Next Generation of Surgery, TAVA, STEM Goes Red, and SEPA.
  • Assists team members in developing educational activities for community engaged research projects (specifically Vice-Chair’s NIH collaboration with Ponce Medical School)

Institutional and Departmental coordination of research and training efforts

  • Liaison with the Institution and other departments to align departmental efforts and minimize redundancies.

Coordinates work of multiple teams in Dept of Surgery

  • SHORE Research Group
  • TIDES Team
  • Community engaged research groups

Represents the Department of Surgery with external collaborators.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience Required
  • Prior experience with project management Preferred
