Job Description

The Director Data will be responsible for leading the data platform team, data science team, and working closely with multiple business intelligence teams. The main focus of the role is to build up a data platform using Azure Cloud and Snowflake. 

• Lead and manage the data platform team, data science team, and work closely with multiple business intelligence teams
• Develop a strategic vision for data and analytics in the company 
• Manage the development and maintenance of a data platform using modern tooling (Snowflake, DBT, Airbyte, etc.) 
• Ensure the quality and integrity of data in the platform 
• Lead the migration of the legacy DWH from SQL Server to Snowflake 
• Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures 
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their data needs and develop solutions to support their business objectives 
• Develop and maintain data security and privacy protocols 
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data and analytics 

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in data and analytics, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role 
• Proven track record of building and managing data platforms in the cloud 
• Knowledge on how to migrate analytical systems (e.g. on premise DWH to cloud) 
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling and ETL processes 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Experience working in a startup/scaleup environment - in the renewable energy industry is a plus 
• Intermediate German language skills (spoken and written) are a must
