The following is an overview of the role and what we are looking for in a successful candidate.
The People Partner, along with the Vice President, People, will help ensure an exceptional employee experience. Recruiting and onboarding is a primary responsibility. The position will also support training and development, performance management, employee relations, policy interpretation, employment law compliance, benefits and 401(k) administration, compensation, and off-boarding.  The position will also support the evolution of the People function as it changes to support the growing business. This role is on-site in our Niceville, Florida office.

Essential Duties & Requirements

  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for exempt and non-exempt positions. 
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings, and complete job descriptions. Oversee the completion of compensation analyses and manage relocation program.
  • Complete background checks and conduct employee eligibility (I-9) and eVerify verifications.
  • Administer Lever Applicant Tracking System efficiently to help ensure an exceptional candidate experience; and ensure the Open Positions report is updated and accurate.
  • Facilitate an exceptional onboarding experience for all new employees, including managing the automated onboarding process, the 30 and 60-day check-in process, the Caliper IDG review process, and the Onboarding Plan process.
  • Manage New Employee and New Contractor Orientations, including managing updates and changes to process and presentation.
  • Support biannual goal setting and performance review processes through Lattice performance management system; administer the system as an expert user.
  • Support employee survey administration including development of action plans based on survey feedback; support Great Place to Work survey and application.
  • Share ideas for ensuring an exceptional employee experience. Raise awareness of any issues impacting employee experience and propose solutions in alignment with People strategy.
  • Support compensation administration, including promotion, pay increase, bonus, new hire, and separation pay processing aligned with business needs and People strategy.  
  • Support benefits administration to ensure an exceptional employee experience.
  • Field and resolve general People-related questions such as employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Facilitate employee relations issues, perform investigations, and track outcomes in accordance with People processes.    
  • Provide guidance to managers regarding performance improvement and corrective action situations.  
  • Support off-boarding process including participating in termination conversations, conducting exit interviews, preparing separation communications, processing unemployment claims and representing the company in unemployment proceedings if necessary.
  • Support various special projects related to People systems and processes. 
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.    
  • Effective interviewing skills and management of multiple candidates simultaneously.   
  • Ability to establish relationships and build trust throughout the organization.  
  • Ability to manage conflict and facilitate successful outcomes.  
  • Self-driven and able to work with limited direction. 
  • Superior judgment and decision-making skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.  
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS system administration.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a strategic Human Resources role.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Recruiter. 
  • Broad mastery of core HR processes, with experience in recruitment, engagement, performance management, compensation and benefits, and learning and development.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices and practical application in the workplace.
  • Experience using HR Information Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems. 
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
