Position Summary

The Associate Deputy Chief of Workforce Training is instrumental in executing and overseeing non-credit workforce education programs tailored to meet immediate employer demands and deliver impactful training outcomes. Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Workforce and Professional Education, this role focuses on operationalizing tuition-generating, short-term training initiatives that drive upskilling, reskilling, and credential attainment across Dallas College’s service area.

This position is pivotal in delivering high-quality training solutions through collaboration with academic schools, employers, and community partners. The Associate Deputy ensures programs are responsive to labor market needs, aligned with industry-recognized credentials, and structured to facilitate employment or career advancement.

The role demands a comprehensive understanding of workforce training operations, program implementation, and partnership engagement, with a strong commitment to adult learners and career-connected education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Execution: Lead the operational management of workforce training programs, ensuring quality delivery and logistical coordination.

  • Employer Engagement: Develop and sustain partnerships with employers to identify training needs, support talent development strategies, and tailor programs accordingly.

  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with faculty, school leadership, and subject matter experts to ensure training curricula are current, credential-aligned, and responsive to labor market changes.

  • Operational Oversight: Manage scheduling, instructor assignments, classroom/facility use, and instructional materials to ensure seamless program delivery.

  • Outcome Tracking: Monitor enrollment, completion, credential attainment, and employment outcomes; contribute to data analysis and reporting for internal decision-making and external accountability.

  • Funding Support: Assist in the development of grant proposals and workforce funding submissions; support grant implementation and compliance reporting.

  • Stakeholder Representation: Represent Dallas College at regional workforce consortiums, employer roundtables, and community events to promote training programs and deepen engagement.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure training programs meet relevant standards for industry certification, funding requirements, and institutional policies.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements, innovations in training delivery, and operational efficiencies to enhance the learner experience and program effectiveness.

  • Funding and Resource Support: Contribute to funding proposals and support grant compliance for training initiatives.

  • Building and Developing Teams: Responsible for assembling a talented team, fostering a positive work environment, and developing the skills and capabilities of team members. 

  • Fostering Collaboration: Encourage teamwork and collaboration, creating an environment where team members can work together effectively. 

  • Performance Management: Tracking progress, providing feedback, and supporting professional development.

  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
