About the role

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Vice President of Health, Safety, Environment (HSE)- Ergonomist, for our Denver, CO office location. Other WSP offices locations will be considered.


The Assistant Vice President of HSE-Ergonomist is a leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization's US Ergonomics Program within the HSE Center of Innovation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe work environment, promoting a culture of caring and minimizing health and safety risks. The Assistant Vice President provides leadership, guidance, and expertise in all matters related to workplace Ergonomics.


Your Impact
 

  • Drive internal implementation of the WSP Ergonomic program, strategy, and objectives.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments for both office and field-based employees to identify potential risks and hazards.
  • Provide recommendations for workstation adjustments, equipment, and practices to reduce strain and increase productivity.
  • Develop and deliver ergonomic training programs and materials to employees across all levels of the organization.
  • Partner with HR, safety, and wellness teams to integrate ergonomics into broader employee health and safety initiatives.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of ergonomic interventions and make adjustments as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, research, and regulatory changes related to ergonomics and workplace health.
  • Provide guidance on ergonomics for remote work setups and field operations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to create a culture of safety and well-being through proactive ergonomics initiatives.
  • Analyze ergonomic injury data to identify trends and develop targeted prevention strategies.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments for both office and field-based employees to identify potential risks and hazards.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture through leadership, training, and engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze health and safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders on ergonomic matters.


Who You Are
Required Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor's in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Ergonomics, Health and Human Performance, or a related field or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Ergonomics or related fields of Biomechanics and Human Factors
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HSE management software.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred Certifications: CSP, AHFP, CHFP, CPE

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $104,200.00 - $185,680.00
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $104,200.00 - $174,240.00

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
