SALARY:   $45.00 per class hour contracted

Requires unofficial transcripts to be submitted for instructor certification eligibility review.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Place, supervise and evaluate student teachers in early childhood education settings
  • Develop relationships with community partners to enable authentic service-learning opportunities for all program students
  • Work non-standard hours including evening or weekend hours
  • Day Travel within the district; up to 30 times per semester.
  • Research and analyze grant opportunities
  • Collaborate and support national, state-wide, and local partnerships with community agencies and employers.
  • Develop and maintain articulation agreement with UW partners and other 4 year colleges.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with high schools for career pathway opportunities.

Qualifications and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Master’s degree preferred
  • 2 years directly related experience
    • At a minimum, occupational experience has to have occurred at least 1 year within the last 5 years.  (Work experience should be recent, relevant, and extensive experience in childcare settings or early childhood inclusive classrooms.) 
  • Must have knowledge of early childhood education field including NAEYC accreditation, Wisconsin licensing and YoungStar Quality Improvement Rating System, child development, leadership and best practices in the field.
  • Demonstrates successful experience with alternate delivery methods including online, web conferencing, accelerated and blended courses
  • Online teaching experience required.  
  • Candidate should have demonstrable experience using various educational technologies with young children and adults.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the District’s standard liability policy
  • Must undergo a Criminal Background Check required by law.
