Project Overview:
The Infrastructure GBU’s, Renewables & Clean Power business line is pursuing future combined cycle power plant projects. The business line is assembling a proposal team to be based in Reston, VA with the intention of mobilization to site upon award.
Job Summary:
The role provides a unique opportunity to initially participate in the front end development of a project, supporting the proposal team in contributing to the construction strategy based on past project experiences in making provisions for successful execution and to address project risk. Upon award, the role transfers into the delivery phase where, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets.
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership / Supervision
- Proactively engages with their team’s development through CPM, Competency development/assessment and feedback
- Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned.
- Provides input and recommendations to the Proposal team in support of project logistics, temporary infrastructure and workflow management to support the development of the project site infrastructure and associated distributable.
- Reviews and supports the development of FNM staffing requirements to establish a complete and efficient staffing profile for the Project’s construction phase.
- Provides advice and guidance required to ensure successful craft management has been fully addressed in the site management strategy.
Planning / Productivity
- Determines workforce requirements.
- Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
Tools, Materials & Equipment
- Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
- Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
- Supports the review and recommendations for tools and equipment during the Proposal phase, including reviews with BEO to address Project execution planning requirements.
