We’re launching an exciting new line of business within Individual Life business focused on private placement life insurance for high-net-worth clients. This is an unique opportunity to join the team at the ground level and play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations for a highly specialized product.

 

As the Specialist, Product, you’ll act as the quarterback for post-sale activities—overseeing policy setup, coordinating with third-party administrators, and ensuring accurate reporting, commissions, and fund changes. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external partners, delivering premium care for policies.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience in case coordination, sales support, or client services (insurance or financial services preferred).
  • Ability to manage complex processes and build new workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills for high-visibility interactions.


Location: Columbus, OH (on-site strongly preferred) with a hybrid work schedule.

This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.

Job Description Summary

As a Specialist, you'll help with the initiation, development, and maintenance of products with respect to design, profitability, and growth. We'll count on you to gather information and make recommendations on pricing and design features, product distribution, and procedures/standards. You'll also have opportunities to assist with key initiatives to address product strategy and profitability targets.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Establishes and maintains features/capabilities of products from beginning to end with shared responsibility for the products managed from both a growth and profitability perspective.

  • Finds opportunities for improvement and recommends changes to management.

  • Provides support related to product management and design.

  • Assists in the development of key initiatives to address product strategy and profitability targets.

  • Reviews and analyzes market information of benchmark competitors, identifying ways to keep products market competitive.

  • Increases proficiency in pricing, product design, legal compliance, data analysis, product distribution, marketing, sales, and statistical reporting.

  • Identifies and evaluates business opportunities. May provide management with regular assessment of financial results and recommendations to increase future performance.

  • Investigates and assists in sponsoring new tools and technology to improve product performance.

  • Assists on special project teams.

  • Manages all aspects of projects, including planning, budgeting, resources coordination, communication, execution and completion.

  • Develops and implements complex business processes that support business requirements and business strategy.

  • Provides training on existing and new processes to the assigned customer base.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned. 

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director or Officer.

Typical Skills and Experiences: Typically, six years of relevant experience in a related industry.

Education: Undergraduate degree in fin
